This happened two years ago.
I recently went canoeing. (and yes, that's how you spell it.)
Korben and I have been many times before. It was the fastest canoe I've ever been in.
We were 2 hours ahead of everyone else.Unfortunatley we didn't know where we were going. Very vague instructions were given. So I kept doubting on wether we had gone too far.
Korben constantly reassured me that we werre going the right way. But I kept doubting. It was my doubts that got Korben doubting.
So we prayed. To be totally honest, I cried. I didn't know where we were. I was like a lost kid in Wal-Mart. I've just never been that far lost before so I flipped out. Korben kept saying that it would be okay. So we stopped. And prayed again. Korben had a feeling that we should go upstream.
So we started walking. On the side of the river was some very thick brush. It was very hard to see the river at times.
That's when I heard it. A very faint rattle. The first time I ever heard it. And I knew what it was. In the midst of One second, I heard saw and ran.A rattle snake. For real. I only saw a small segment, that's all I needed.Korben saw the whole thing. coiled up, ready to spring.
We ran faster than we ever have. And I cried harder. I feel kinda silly now but at the time I was freaked out. So we got off the shore and on the embankment. We prayed again. We walked for a long time. And then we saw a canoe. Luckily they were towing a canoe. And it had a paddle in it. Korben had brought one for a weapon (just in case). So our prayers were answered. We hadn't gone too far and we weren't too far from the end. We were safe.
Thank God.
